Eight-time Academy Award winning composer Alan Menken will be joined on stage by Broadway’s John Treacy Egan (The Little Mermaid, The Producers), Penny Fuller (Dividing the Estate),Victoria Mallory (A Little Night Music, Follies) and Kurt Peterson (Follies, Dear World) in Broadway Tonight on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at 7:00 pm at the Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main St, Tarrytown, NY. Media personality Valerie Smaldone hosts the evening. The previously announced Lee Roy Reams will also appear.

The performance is being presented for the benefit of Premier Performing Arts, a non-profit professional theatre company producing in Westchester County. “The addition of these Broadway luminaries adds to the building excitement surrounding the evening,” states Producing Artistic Director Dennis Edenfield. “We are truly delighted to have them all grace the stage with Alan.”

Mr. Menken is best known for scoring numerous Walt Disney films, including “The Little Mermaid”, “Beauty And The Beast”, “Aladdin”, “Pocahontas”, “The Hunchback Of Notre Dame”, and 2007′s live-action hit, “Enchanted”. In addition to his Oscars, other awards include 6 Grammys and 7 Golden Globes. He also composed the Broadway musicals Little Shop Of Horrors, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

Penny Fuller originated the role of Eve Harrington in the original Broadway production of Applause (Tony award nominee), and was recently seen on Broadway in Horton Foote‘s Dividing the Estate. Other credits include Broadway’s The Dinner Party and Off-Broadway in A New Brain.

Valerie Smaldone, five time Billboard award winner, is a sought after emcee, host, and voice over artist. She is also a celebrity interviewer for various outlets, and currently launching a new online TV show and syndicated radio program.

Premier Performing Arts was founded in 2006 to serve as vital artistic resource for the people, dedicated to presenting and preserving the art of live theatre in order to explore, illuminate and celebrate the human experience. PPA is headed by Producing Artistic Director Dennis Edenfield, a successful director/choreographer and Broadway veteran, having appeared in several Broadway shows, most notably in the original production of A Chorus Line. Members of PPA’s Advisory Board include Don Correia, Sandy Duncan, John Kander, Donna McKechnie, Bebe Neuwirth, Debbie Reynolds and Joe Tremaine.
